Our first artist in the series is Paul Boswell, AKA Mutartis

Paul ’Mutartis’ Boswell also known as Bos, Warp and DJ Mike Trifle is a multi disciplinary  artist residing and hailing from the depths of the West Country near the woods just  outside the market town of Frome where he grew up and first practiced the art of Graffiti.  Learning how to wield paint in abandoned warehouses and other such forgotten places  he honed his art practice and forged a unique style, influenced by Underground music ,  horror films and TV, fantasy art and nature.

Living in a rural location covered by large areas of woodland has strongly informed his art  style which you can see in elements such as gnarly branch like forms and atmospheric  skies.

He says “I like to evoke strong atmospheres that hopefully make the viewer feel  something. That sense of awe you get when viewing vast landscapes or the deep beauty  of nature in all its forms. Thats what Im aiming for.”

Paul has more recently found a niche illustrating and designing book covers for the  “Weird Fiction” community. He also runs a successful bespoke traditional screen printing  company.

For this particular project he has teamed up with Wildcat Community Sauna in Frome to create an  artists designed and printed “Wild Cat” Design. Paul has a designed the Wild Cat and is  also screen printing the design onto eco friendly shirts and hoodies and a small run of  paper prints using soil association approved water based inks.
